Melasma

Melasma is a pigmentation disorder that causes brown patches on the face. It's mostly seen in women and usually appears during pregnancy or after sun exposure.

Melasma symptoms

Melasma can develop for various reasons, including hormonal changes during pregnancy or menopause or while taking birth control pills. Also, exposure to sunlight, skin irritation, or use of certain cosmetics, cleansers, or topical medications.
