What is Fotona Laser Tattoo Removal?
The Fotona QX MAX is one of the most advanced laser systems available for tattoo removal. Its state-of-the-art technology ensures:
Effective Multi-Color Tattoo Removal: The Fotona QX MAX features multiple wavelengths, including:
• 1064 nm (Nd:YAG): Ideal for dark pigments like black and blue.
• 532 nm (KTP): Targets brighter pigments, including red, orange, and purple.
• 585 nm and 650 nm: Designed for complex colors like green and sky blue.
• Precision and Safety: Its uniform energy delivery minimizes the risk of side effects like scarring or skin discoloration.
• Reduced Sessions: The high power of the QX MAX allows for faster pigment breakdown, reducing the number of sessions required.
How Does Laser Tattoo Removal Work?
Laser tattoo removal works by using high-intensity light beams to break down the ink particles in the skin into smaller fragments that the body’s immune system can naturally eliminate.
Key Steps in the Process:
1. Selective Photothermolysis:
• Selective Targeting: The laser emits specific wavelengths of light that target the tattoo ink while sparing the surrounding skin tissue.
• Energy Absorption: Tattoo ink particles absorb the laser energy. Different ink colours require different laser wavelengths for effective targeting.
2. Fragmentation of Ink Particles:
• The laser energy generates heat, causing the ink particles to break into smaller fragments.
• The rapid absorption of laser energy also creates a phenomenon called a “photoacoustic effect,” which shatters the ink particles without damaging the skin.
3. Immune System Response:
• The body’s immune cells (particularly macrophages) identify the fragmented ink particles as foreign material.
• Over time, these particles are transported to the lymphatic system and gradually eliminated.
Factors Influencing Effectiveness:
1. Ink Color:
• Darker colors like black and dark blue absorb more laser energy and are easier to remove.
• Lighter colors like yellow, green, and fluorescent inks may require more sessions or specialized lasers.
2. Tattoo Age:
• Older tattoos are generally easier to remove because the ink has already begun to break down over time.
3. Skin Type:
• Lighter skin tones often respond better because there is less risk of laser energy being absorbed by natural skin pigments.
4. Tattoo Depth and Ink Quality:
• Professional tattoos, which are deeper and use more ink, typically require more sessions than amateur tattoos.
